The Cooperative Agreement (CA) provides federal agencies with the
opportunity to enhance or develop new and existing projects. The Port Heiden
Remediation and Removal Project was a three year project 2010-2013 to“clean up”
the former Radio Relay Site based out of the Fort Morrow military base during
World War 2.
The memorandum of agreement is made between the
United States Air Force base who occupied the Fort Morrow site during WW2 and
with 5,000 military personnel. The objective is to address the contaminated site
made after the occupancy. The work is performed on behalf of the United States
Army Corps of Engineers 611th engineering squadron with reports to David Jadhon,
Louis Howard, Patrick Roth, and Gerda Kosbruk.
